Making the right choice

When is ever the best time to invest in a new website, we’ve provided a few questions that might help you in making the decision.

I last updated my website…?

Times changed, and so do brands; your website should reflect your company and brand. If you’ve changed your brand without updating your website, you risk causing confusion around credibility. Your website needs to professional, cutting edge and keep up with the latest developments in your industry.

Do you look like you’re worth it?

You’ve got the best product on the market, the best sales team in the region; if your website doesn’t reflect this. That’s a huge disengagement for any likely customer. It’s likely you’ll be viewed as “disconnected”, and opt for someone more qualified in your industry. Ask yourself, am I making the competition look great?

Don’t look at our current website?

It’s not so common you’ll hear the phrase, “don’t look at our current website, we’re launching our new one soon”. If that’s the case, it may be time to think about change. Getting honest advice from people you trust can aid in the decision. Asking employees, customers, potential suppliers for feedback can often give you the incentive required to make the decision.

It’s not mobile friendly?

We’ve previously mentioned our thoughts on the essential elements to a great website, responsive design is a fundamental requirement in any website moving into 2020. In 2019, 52% of all internet traffic actually came from mobile devices. Depending on your industry and target audience, you’d need to consider how many people are visiting your website from a mobile device.

Slow load times?

A slow website will always inevitably lead to problems, the average page load time is 3 seconds with every second after a potential drop off for someone viewing your website. There are lots of factors to consider when looking at slow load times, and there isn’t any quick fix. Suitable hosting, resource file size, caching and render-blocking resources are a handful of considerations when looking at slow load times.

It’s difficult to update content?

Fresh, relevant and up to date content is a very important factor to ensure your website ranks well so it’s important you are able to publish and update content on your website relatively stress-free. It’s no lie that older, outdated websites often do not contain the functionality to update content with ease, or even at all. Modern content management systems provide this functionality with ease, when used correctly your website should be extremely simple to maintain.
